BE READY FOR YOUR MOMENT TO SHINE
1. Help your child shine on picture day by picking out comfortable clothing and colors they feel good in, or that coordinate with your background choice. Avoid slogans, logos, and big patterns. Some poses may show pants or skirts, so plan the complete outfit. Small jewelry and accessories are fine but nothing too big or distracting. Since we may be using a "green screen" for backgrounds, it may be best to avoid green clothing.
2. Glasses are okay! Our professional photographers are trained to reduce glare. Depending on the type of glasses, sometimes glare must have additional retouching to completely remove it.
3. Any hairstyle works for Picture Day. Schedule haircuts a few weeks ahead of time to allow hair to grow back a little, or you can go for a fresh-cut look. Don’t worry about “perfect”! That hair that always sticks up or a missing tooth shows your child just as they are right now—and you’ll enjoy looking back on that for years to come.
4. Keep kids relaxed and ready to be themselves. Smiles can look fake if they’re practiced ahead of time.
5. On Picture Day, teachers and volunteers will help straighten collars and check posture. And, if you like, we have retouching options for scrapes and blemishes.
That’s it! Our experienced photographers are pros at making a fun and worry-free Picture Day. After all, a school portrait is the best way for a child's growth to be remembered!
SENIOR PORTRAITS - HOW TO LOOK YOUR BEST!!!
Clothing - Wearing the right clothes for your session is very important. Solid color earth tones always work best. Stripes, polka dotes, large print, and bright colors are very distracting and take attention away from the subjects face and eyes.
Hair - Hair should be recently washed and combed/brushed. Fly-away hairs are hard to control on picture day and very difficult to remove on the final photographs.
Face - Your face should be clean and dry. Perspiration will cause shine and reflections on the skin. Too much sun will cause red blotches and uneven textures, shine, and hot spots.
Attitude - It is important that you have a good attitude towards having your photo taken on picture day. Keep in mind, your photographer wants to give you the best photograph he/she can in the limited amount of time available for your session. If you are being photographed during school hours, it is likely that you may be coming after gym class or lunch time. Please try your best to take the time to look your best. Wash your face, brush your hair, bring a nice shirt or blouse to change into. A smile is nice to have for parents but you do not have to smile for your photo. It is more important to plan on how you want to be represented in your school yearbook for eternity. Your photo session will only last a few minutes so be ready.
